Helping Hands to extend food giveaways
(ALBANY, GA) – A local group supplying Dougherty County families with excess food from the school system are expanding their giveaways.
Helping Hands Ending Hunger is going to continue their food distribution with the Dougherty County School System starting all-online.
Dougherty County chapter Director, Cathy Revell says they’ve expanded their services to not just help families of Dougherty County students, but faculty as well.
There are even discussions of increasing the number of days they can give out food, given the new process they’ve set up with their food drives.
“It doesn’t take more than five to seven minutes to go through the drive thru, we have two lanes, and four stations, so it’s a pretty quick event. So they will be able to come and we are definitely continuing it…,” says Revell.
Helping Hands will still hold food drives on the third Tuesday of every month.
