GSP identifies pedestrian killed in Lee
No charges expected to be filed in Thursday's early morning fatal collision
LEESBURG, GA – The Georgia State Patrol has identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed while trying to cross U.S. 19 early this morning.
According to the GSP, the deceased is 33 year old Timothy Blade Collier.
Personal identification at the scene suggests Collier was from the Ashburn area, but the investigating trooper believes Collier had been homeless and living around the greater Albany area for the past few months.
Troopers say Collier died from his injuries after being struck by a southbound vehicle a little after 6:30 this morning.
The ensuing investigation prompted a temporary closure of the roadway in both directions.
An autopsy and toxicology exam could shed answers as to why and in what state Collier was in as he attempted to cross the highway.
