Gopher Tortoise Festival has a lot to offer this weekend

DOUGLAS, GA – Cooler temperatures and the end to summer often have us anxious to get out and do something fun with the family. Well, Douglas-Coffee County has you covered.
The Gopher Tortoise Festival kicks off tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. – now they’ll close up shop for the night at 10 p.m. but all the action will be back on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Attractions include 70 plus vendors for everything you could imagine: food, arts and crafts, and more.
Music and entertainment get an early start with Concerts at the Martin during the festival. Thursday night Easton Corbin will perform, the Allman Betts Band will take the stage on Saturday. In between, the Eagles tribute band “Dark desert Highway” will perform on the lawn of Central Square tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the groove of one of the greatest bands in history.
Shopping, Ziplining, Skoll Axe Throwing, and Southeastern Wildlife Encounters will all be available for you amusement Saturday, You can zipline Friday as well! As you know, a cause close to our heart here at South Georgia Television is promoting shelter pet adoptions. There will be a “Coffee Cause for Paws Adoption Event” Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
