Georgia’s junior duck stamp art winner revealed
Duluth teen Grace Wang heads for nationals next week

ATLANTA, GA – Grace Wang, 14, an art student from the C & H Art Studio in Duluth has been announced as this year’s winner of the annual Georgia Junior Duck Stamp Art Competition by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Migratory Bird Program. Judges unanimously selected Ms. Wang’s rendition of a Blue-winged Teal as the Georgia Best of Show, and her original artwork will be sent to compete in the National Junior Duck Stamp Contest being held Friday, April 22, 2022.
According to her mother, Zhigang Wang, upon hearing the news that she had won the Best of Show, “Grace was shouting in disbelief, her voice was trembling, and I have never seen her so excited. We feel so honored for the opportunity to represent Georgia, we are so thankful to you and the judges of the contest, we are grateful to have Mr. Hung being Grace’s drawing teacher for more than six years.”
For the 2022 Georgia competition, 295 Junior Duck Stamp entries were submitted from several different public and private schools, home schools, and art studios. Grace Wang’s winning entry was submitted through her art teacher Chin-Cheng Hung from the C & H Art Studio in Duluth.
This year, a total of 78 winners were selected, featuring twenty-five winners in three different age groups: Kindergarten to third grade, fourth to sixth grade, seventh to ninth grade and 3 winners in tenth to twelfth grade, as well as the state’s Best of Show. Three First Place, three Second Place, three Third Place and 16 Honorable Mention winners were chosen in the first three grade categories and three First Place winners were chosen in the fourth category. The Best of Show was selected from among all of the First Place winners.

Junior Duck Stamps are sold by the U.S. Postal Service and Amplex Corporation consignees for $5 per stamp. Proceeds from the sale of Junior Duck Stamps support conservation education, and provide awards and scholarships for students, teachers, and schools that participate in the program. Donations to the Junior Duck Stamp Program can also be made through purchases on Amazon.com.
The Junior Duck Stamp Art Contest is open to all youth in grades Kindergarten through twelfth grade. All participants receive a certificate of appreciation.
