MOULTRIE, GA – The national Arbor Day observance is still a few weeks away, but today it’s Arbor Day in the Peach State.

And in the Colquitt County seat of Moultrie, they also coincided the celebration of 33 years of being designated a Tree City USA.

Friday morning,  Moultrie Mayor William McIntosh, the Georgia Forestry Commission, and Councilwomen Wilma Hadley & Lisa Clarke Hill were on hand for the planting of a Chinese Fringe Tree at the Georgia Department of Labor.

Afterward,  Mayor McIntosh was presented with a certificate stating this is the City of Moultrie’s 33rd year of being labeled as a Tree City USA.

National Arbor Day will be observed April 29th.
