Georgia Southwestern’s second annual Teddy Toss was a success

After the Hurricanes score the first basket of the game, the students make it rain in the dome

AMERICUS, GA – The second annual Teddy Bear Toss was a success at Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday night.

When the Hurricanes score the first basket of the game, fans are allowed to toss their stuffed bears onto the court. The bears are collected and donated to Phoebe-Sumter’s Medical Center for children to play with.

GSW President, Neal Weaver, came up with the idea last year and plans to do it every February in one of the last home games of the season.

This year, 1,596 teddy bears were collected and will be donated to the children.
