Georgia Peanut and Cotton Commissions holding research day virtually
(TIFTON, GA) – The Georgia Peanut and Cotton Commissions are taking their field days online this coming year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both commissions, in partnership with the University of Georgia Tifton campus are sponsoring a virtual field research day on September 9th.
The Peanut Commission says the goal of the research day is to inform farmers about research projects and funding for investments, while an in-person affair wasn’t possible.
“It does allow them to learn about the ongoing research at the university, and how the investments they made to the Georgia Peanut Commission and Georgia Cotton Commission, how those funds are invested into research projects at the university,” says Peanut Commission Director of Communications, Joy Carter Crosby.
