Georgia Child Support Commission seeks public comment

ATLANTA, GA – According to a press release, the Georgia Child Support Commission is asking for public input and comments as a part of its upcoming 2022 economic study. Both the statute and the Basic Child Support Obligation Table, which is used for calculating child support amounts, will be reviewed.

Public comments may be submitted online or via good, old-fashioned snail mail. Those preferring to view or speak at the listening session on September 23, 2021, may do so online. Citizens wishing to speak should register in advance. Comments and registrations can be made at the Commission’s website here.

The Georgia Commission on Child Support consists of 15 members appointed by the Governor. Their duties include establishing and regularly reviewing child support guidelines, development and maintenance of the Georgia Child Support Calculator, recommending legislation, providing training throughout the state to judges, attorneys and the public as well as many other duties.
