GBI: Two murders tied to one suspect
26 year old Nakia West named in two separate slayings in Dougherty, Terrell counties

DAWSON, GA – A local man accused of murdering his Terrell County grandmother and stealing her car in his getaway has also been named a suspect in a separate homicide investigation.
South Georgia Television News has confirmed through the GBI’s Sylvester office that 26 year old Nakia Lanard West will also be facing murder charges in connection to the January 31st murder of 26 year old Myeisha Ford.
Ford was found with deceased with a gunshot wound in the 1100 block of Albany’s Colquitt Alley although an official cause of death has yet to be released.
A few hours after Ford’s body was discovered, Dawson Police were finding 59 year old Annie Josie Chappell deceased in her Boundary Street home.
GBI Agent Marko Jones of the agency’s Sylvester office confirmed Wednesday afternoon that West is wanted for both slayings.
West was taken into custody in Augusta County, Virginia and is awaiting extradition to Georgia.
