GBI: Leesburg murder suspect caught in Texas

Natonya Chappell awaits extradition back to Georgia

TEXARKANA, TX- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says an arrest has been made in last month’s deadly shooting of a Lee County woman.

GBI agents say 41 year old Natonya Chappell was arrested in Texarkana, Texas by the United States Marshal’s Service.

He is being held on a murder charge and is awaiting extradition back to Georgia.

Chappell is accused in the January 15th murder of 44 year old Tana Mullis, who was discovered deceased in her home.

It is believed the victim’s daughter was in a relationship with the suspect at the time of the shooting.

The GBI says their investigation remains active and ongoing.
