Fitzgerald receives $750,000 grant from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs

FITZGERALD, Ga. — In a Facebook posting, Mayor Jim Puckett of Fitzgerald announced that the city has received an SBDG grant for $750,000 from Commissioner Nunn of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
The grant is to update and renovate the Monitor Enrichment Program. Puckett recognized several people at the Southern Georgia Regional Commission for their work on the project.
“My only involvement, other than support and encouragement, was to be in this picture and accept the check,” he said. “I also want to thank Councilman Albert Webb and the MEP Board Members, the DCA, SGRC and Ben Hill County.”
