DPH officials are urging residents to call ahead for testing as need ‘skyrockets’

Testing Site With National Guard

ALBANY, Ga. – Southwest Georgia Department of Public Health officials are saying the volume of testing in the district has “skyrocketed in the past week.” The Dougherty County COVID-19 testing site has had to ask people to form two lines to accommodate to the rising number of people requesting a free COVID-19 test.

As testing needs rise, DPH officials are urging residents to call (229) 352-6567 to set up an appointment.

By doing so, people are able to register prior to arriving to the site.

Registering on site without first calling ahead slows the process and creates congestion.
