DPD patrol cars, facilities gain lifesaving devices
First responders have another tool in their arsenal.

DOUGLAS, GA — In a Facebook posting, the Douglas Police Department announced that patrol vehicles and facilities will soon be equipped with 8 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) with funds received through a grant from the Firehouse Public Safety Foundation.
Mayor Pro Tem Edwin Taylor and the Douglas City Commission approved acceptance of the $11,400 in funds from Firehouse Subs to equip its officers with the devices.
AEDs are used to help people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, making it possible for officers and first responders to save many lives per year.
