Dougherty County Update On Radium Springs Garden

ALBANY, Ga – During Monday’s county commission meeting an update was provided in regards to renovations that are underway at Radium Springs Garden.

Dougherty Counties Assistant County Administrator Scott Addison says many projects have been completed since the memorial at the gardens, while citing the due date of plans and costs estimates.

“…we had some issues with security, so we installed security cameras. Recently a new playground equipment which has been well received. A traffic counter so that we can get a better idea of the victors that come in and out of the park…” says Addison.

This is a full list of the additional projects that have been completed.

But during the commission meeting, things got heated between District 2 Commissioner Victor Edwards, District 3 Commissioner Clinton Johnson, and Chairman Chris Cohilas about the addition of a zip-line and challenge course.

“Commissioner Edwards, you’re out of order.” said Cohilas, “My question was designed to figure out a very simple answer, which is have we or have we not adopted the master plan. It was very simple, wasn’t hard, wasn’t difficult. Thankful for Commissioner Johnson for brining us the update, I’m thankful for the hard work we gotten here.We can either focus on what hasn’t been done or we can focus on the work we’ve gotten done and will continue to get done.” Cohilas said in response to Commissioner Edwards.
