Dougherty County libraries do well despite changes due to pandemic

ALBANY, Ga. – Dougherty County public libraries providing an update to the public Monday. The library system says despite seeing significantly less people walking into the library, they’ve been able to pivot to online resources effectively.
The Dougherty County library director, Pauline Abidde says even though COVID-19 has thrown a few curve balls, the library remains a vital part of the community.
“Our revenue collection for fines and photocopies was down, of course, due to the pandemic but we still collected over $55,000. We usually have lots of in-person performances but of course all of those had to be canceled,” said Abidde.
