Dougherty County COVID-19 Task Force officials urge residents to be ‘mindful’ as schools reopen

ALBANY, Ga. – Dougherty County COVID-19 Task Force officials met today and urged people to remember that COVID-19 is still very much affecting people in the community.
Coroner Fowler says two county residents have died from coronavirus complications this week and the Department of Public Health is performing 2,400 hundred tests a week on people who suspect they might have contracted the virus.
With schools opening up, Phoebe officials urge people to continue to practice safe measure to prevent the hospitals from swelling.
“Our clinical outcomes continue to improve the overall mortality rate continues to decrease but we still need to be mindful of the fact it has the potential to be a very devastating and fatal virus,” says Dr. Steven Kitchen, Phoebe Chief Medical Officer.
