Don’t worry about Meghan McCain and Joy Behar’s relationship
It’s all good between Meghan McCain and Joy Behar.
That’s the message McCain had Wednesday after outcry over her calling fellow “The View” panelist Behar a “bh.”
The pair got into some verbal sparring on the talk show over President Donald Trump’s reelection kickoff rally and things got heated.
McCain, 34, complained that she was the “sacrificial Republican” on the show, which prompted Behar, 76, to respond, “Awwww.”
“Oh, don’t feel bad for me, bh,” McCain said to Behar. “I’m paid to do this, OK? Don’t feel bad for me.”
There was an audible gasp from some in the audience, and panelist Sunny Hostin said, “Let’s not start calling each other bhes.”
“Oh, Joy and I call each other bh all the time,” McCain said.
Panelist Whoopi Goldberg later explained to the audience that “you know sometimes we get spirited on this show.”
“We used to say bh all the time, and then one of the people that was here used to get upset and now bh has creeped in,” Goldberg said. “They’re good with bh!”
McCain went on to say she’s written a book titled “America, You Sexy Bh.” She said she loves the word and that she and Behar are actually comfortable using it.
“I also enjoy fighting with you and she enjoys fighting with me,” McCain said. “So, I just want everyone to stop being so precious about our relationship because it’s almost 2020 and women can debate on TV in a spirited way without it being personal, and I know this is a big shock, but we get along backstage.”
Behar confirmed that, saying, “We’re both pugilistic, and so it’s fine.”
“I’m very straight in what I believe, and so is she so we’re going to fight,” Behar said. “And I don’t care if you call me a bh.”
