(LEESBURG, GA) – For those in Lee County, the name may sound familiar, as Mary Egler will once again run for the 13th District of the Georgia Senate as a Democrat.

She’s hoping to bring people on both sides together as part of her platform.

“I’ve met a lot of wonderful people. I’ve met with Democrats, i’ve met with Republicans, and I find that both have a lot in common with their concerns and fears. And I hope that we can all come together and work together…” says Egler.

She’s no stranger to the campaign trail herself.

In the past year, she’s put herself on the ballot for the 152nd District in the House of Representatives, and ran as a Democrat in the special election for the same seat she’s running for again.

The previous campaigns she believes have helped her to grow.

Egler told us humorously, “Well it means that i’ve got a lot experience of crossing ditches, crossing hills and putting signs in the roadway. Sometimes they get close to the road depending on how close the election is.”

However, one of the big issues that, much like other candidates e\Egler is focusing on is helping get those who’ve been furloughed back to work and help for those who’ve been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

She says, “A lot of people, small business owners who i’ve talked to, tell me their greatest fear has been not having enough money to continue to operate, not being able to have enough employees to work, and to pay them.”

Egler will be running against current State Senator, Carden Summers.
