DCSS meal delivery back in service

(ALBANY, GA) — After a nutrition worker tested positive for COVID-19, the Dougherty County School System is back with meal delivery for students.
The school system announced the previous weekend that they were suspending meals to thousands of food-insecure students due to the positive case.
They’re now back and were able to deliver meals to students at the regular hubs by bus.
The Dougherty County School System will also be taking some additional measures moving forward with meal delivery.
“We’re continuing to try and get our hands on some PPE (Personal Protective Equipment, it’s something that’s hard to come by because medical organizations are taking priority, as they should. So getting our hands on the right protective gear has been a challenge,” says DCSS District Communications Manager, J.D. Sumner.
Prior to the suspension of food distribution, the Dougherty County School System served more than 160 thousand meals to students.
