DCPD donates food to community center to help beyond the holidays

ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany St. Clare Community Center received a huge donation from the Dougherty County Police Department for the busy holiday season.
The center hands out two meals a day to local families in need and DCPD decided to give the center canned goods, 110 chickens, breads and other food items to help them through the holidays. DCPD lieutenant Tamiko Whitlock says making sure families have food on their tables is all a part of protecting and serving the community.
“This is part of the serving the protect and serve, this is the serving part, giving back to the community making sure that the community knows that we’re not there just when things are bad but any time that you may need us,” says Whitlock.
