CORDELE, GA – A 19 year old student at Crisp County Learning Center is getting a hard learned lesson in school policy.

Crisp County deputies say they’ve arrested and charged Patrick Ellis after he allegedly brought an unloaded weapon to the school campus Tuesday.

Sheriff Billy Hancock says school administrators had already seized the weapon from Ellis prior to the arrival of his deputies to the 14th Avenue location.

No one was hurt in the incident, as there were no other students on campus at the time and the weapon did not have bullets.

Ellis faces a single count of bringing a weapon into a school safety zone.
