Crisp goes virtual instruction for high schoolers

The latest outbreak of Covid-19 and variant shutters high school classrooms and football season opener

CORDELE, GA- It’s back to the internet for Crisp County High School students, as late Wednesday night Superintendent Cindy Hughes alerted the community that in-person class instruction is halted in favor of virtual learning, for at least the next few days.

Hughes says she expects Crisp County High School students to be back in the classroom by Monday, August 23rd.

Students switched to virtual learning today, August 12th.

Teachers, nevertheless had to report to work at 7:45 this morning

“We suspended all extracurricular activities until the 23rd, which unfortunately includes the football game on the 20th,” said Hughes in an e-mail to South Georgia Television News.
The Crisp County Cougars were set to open the 2021 high school football season against the Tift Blue Devils and the most recent guidance we’re hearing is the game will not be rescheduled.
“We will begin football play on Friday, August 27th at Houston County,” says Hughes.
