Concerned Citizens That Care donates 200 meals

CORDELE, Ga. – 200 Cordele families in need enjoyed a full Thanksgiving meal thanks to the organization Concerned Citizens That Care.
The group partnered with volunteers and sponsors to help provide turkeys, fresh greens, grits, canned goods and other items to families in need.
This is the 18th year the organization has served the community but due to COVID-19 things were a little different this year. To minimize contact, there was a drive-thru style distribution.
The organizations Vice President, Barbara Dennis, says that this is it was as important as ever to serve as many families as possible.
“We just want to thank everybody who donated because of their generosity we were able to feed 200 people and we just want to say thank you to each and everyone, regardless of what you gave, how large and how small we truly appreciate and thank you. We know it’s more blessed to give than to receive and god blesses us so that we can bless others,” says Dennis.
The first year the organization distributed thanksgiving meals, they were only able to provide two families with food, however this holiday, over 200 people were able to have a thanksgiving feast.
