Community members gathered in Albany to search for 21-year-old Leesburg woman

ALBANY, Ga. – Friday morning a community-formed search party organized at the Civic Center to search for 21-year-old Jessica Dietzel.

Dietzel was last seen willingly getting into a newer, Dark Ford Taurus at the Luxury Inn Hotel the afternoon of March 3rd and has been missing almost two weeks.

On March 4, Dietzel’s mother, Kristina Johnson, went on Facebook and asked members of the community to join her as she searched along the Flint River for her missing daughter.

And this morning, people responded by gathering at the Civic Center, ready to start the search.

“It absolutely means the world to me that the community is getting together and that people have a heart for others and come out and help in this effort to find my daughter,” says Johnson.

So with the support of over 30 friends, family members and complete strangers, bushes were examined , bridges were inspected, and the bloated Flint River was scanned.

When asked why she chose the Flint River to search Johnson said, “Well there is talk of something happening to her that’s having to do with her in the river.”

Family friend Jeanette short said she decided to help search the area today to show her support.

“I cant imagine what Kristina is going through not knowing where her daughter is or what her brothers are going through not knowing where their sister is and we should come together and we should help people,” says Short.

Johnson says she wants people to understand just how loving her daughter is and she wants her found.

“She’s absolutely a beautiful soul and beautiful heart and we just need to find her and get her.”

The search party’s organizers say that as long as they have supplies, they will keeping coming back and search for Jessica.
