Colquitt County hosts first flag football minicamp
MOULTRIE, GA – After an incredible inaugural season, Colquitt County flag football hosted day one of their first ever youth flag football camp Thursday morning.
“We tailored it just for the girls who were between fifth and eighth grade,” Lady Packers head flag football coach Kirk Woodall said. “The whole point of the camp is to spread flag football and to see its growth, and it’s been tremendous here in Colquitt County.”
The program sparked interest from over 100 young girls at trials this year, and camps like these will just keep the interest rolling in.
“They’re going to benefit the program because it allows the opportunity for our players to give back to the community,” Woodall said. ” It gives the chance for us to showcase the unique and varied skills that our players have. It’s going to give these young ladies that came today an opportunity to play with three or four girls that have already got college offers that at the end of the season, they’ll get a chance to go on and play college flag football. So it’s a great opportunity for them to see that.”
