Coffee High School weightlifting team stands out at USA National Championship
PITTSBURGH, PA – The Coffee High School Weightlifting Team recently competed at the USA Weightlifting National Championships in Pittsburgh and once again made their presence known in a big way on a national stage.
Coffee was one of the largest teams in the competition with 20 lifters, the most ever for a Coffee team. Twelve of those were competing in their first national competition. Coffee also had a record five girls competing this year.
Overall, Coffee lifters broke 46 individual personal records on their way to 10 individual medals, and three lifters were perfect in going 6 for 6 in their lifts. The 13U Boys finished as National Champions, the Junior Men (18-20) finished National Runner-Up, and the Overall Men’s Team (All Ages) placed 3rd. The 13U Girls also finished 3rd in the competition.
Individually, Rhett Robinson was the National Champion in the Men’s 23U, with Range Robinson National Runner-Up in the Junior Men’s (18-20) division. Landon Gross and Kiptyn Hobby were Bronze Medalists in the 13U division, with Scott Smith and Aiden Chancey finishing 5th in 13U.
