Coffee County Sheriff’s Office reports two sex offenders in violation
DOUGLAS, Ga. — According to releases by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook, two residents who are required to maintain their current address with the sex offender registry are currently in violation.
The first, Chrystal Lynn Garren, 40, has been a sex offender registrant since 2003 after an “Enticing a child for indecent purposes” conviction in Cook County, Georgia. As she last updated her location on August 23, 2019, she is currently in violation. Garren has ties to Cook County, Lowndes County, and several locations in Florida. The second, Michael Rowe, 36, has been a sex offender registrant since 2007 after an “Aggravated Child Molestation” conviction in Atkinson County, Georgia. He was recently released from prison and was registered to an address at 319 East Ward Street, Douglas, Georgia. Rowe failed to keep a scheduled appointment with his probation officer and has failed to register a correct address with any Sheriff’s office. As such, he is currently in violation and is considered absconded. Rowe is known to live in wooded areas or under bridges.
