Coffee County Sheriff’s Office helping one of their own fight cancer

DOUGLAS, GA – In a statement on Facebook, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office spoke of the generosity of one of its own. “Sergeant Miguel Contreras would do anything for anybody, give you the shirt off his back and drop whatever he is doing to help someone.”
Sgt. Contreras is currently fighting cancer – not an easy or inexpensive battle – and his law enforcement family is determined to do everything they can to ease some of the stress and financial burden on the Contreras family. As they further stated in the post, “Now it’s our turn to help him!”
The agency is selling tee-shirts displaying support and encouragement for the sergeant at a price of $20 per shirt. All proceeds will be donated to assist with medical bills, time off from work, and travel expenses for treatment. The shirts are Gildan soft style, and the deadline for the next order is Friday, April 1.
Order forms are located at the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, Broxton Police Department, Nicholls City Hall, Douglas Police Department, Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office, Pearson Police Department, and the Willacoochee Police Department. Anyone wishing to place an order for multiple shirts should contact the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office at 912-384-4227.
