TIFTON, Ga. — Monthly mosquito spraying will resume in Tifton on Thursday, March 5, according to the City of Tifton.

The city entered a two-year contract in April 2025 with Astro Exterminating Services to spray every street in Tifton once a month as part of its mosquito control program. In 2026, spraying will run from March through October.

Spraying is typically scheduled for Thursday evenings, with trucks operating between approximately 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., generally around dusk. However, times may vary each month depending on conditions.

Each of Tifton’s four City Council districts will be sprayed monthly on a rotating schedule:

  • Week 1: District 1

  • Week 2: District 2

  • Week 3: District 3

  • Week 4: District 4

City officials noted that spraying dates are subject to change due to weather. In the event of inclement weather on a scheduled Thursday evening, crews may spray at dawn the following day, ending no later than 30 minutes before sunrise.

The city will post weekly spraying notifications and any schedule changes on its Facebook page, website calendar and X account. Additional information about Tifton’s Mosquito Control Program is available on the city’s website.
