City of Tifton Pins Kiefer Daughtry as Fire Chief
TIFTON, Ga. – The City of Tifton officially pinned Kiefer Daughtry as the new chief of the Tifton Fire Department during a ceremony Thursday.
Daughtry brings 15 years of service with the department, working his way up through the ranks as firefighter, engineer, lieutenant in suppression, training chief and assistant fire chief. He was promoted to assistant chief in January 2025 before being selected to lead the department.
City Manager Bobby “Roho” Bennett praised Daughtry’s leadership, calling him a “true servant leader” and expressing confidence in his ability to move the department forward.
Daughtry holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University, an Associate of Science from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), and an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science from Southern Regional Technical College. He is also pursuing a Master of Fire and Emergency Sciences from University of Florida.
In 2019, Daughtry was recognized as one of Tifton’s “Top 10 Under 40” by The Tifton Gazette.
Mayor Julie Smith said Daughtry has earned the trust and respect of both residents and fellow firefighters and expressed confidence in his continued service to the community.
City leaders say they are proud to promote from within and look forward to Daughtry guiding the department in its mission to protect lives and property.
