City of Tifton issues brown water warning

TIFTON, GA – In a Facebook posting, the city of Tifton announced that routine maintenance and flushing of hydrants in the area of South Carpenter Road and West Golden Road may result in brown water. This is a result of the flushing of debris and sediment scheduled to take place on February 9th and 12th.

If your water is brown, do not use it. Rather, run your cold water taps to allow the contaminate to pass and allow clean water through. If the problem persists, contact customer service at 229-391-3957.
