Chehaw Park Authority approved by Dougherty County

(ALBANY, GA)- At the Dougherty County Commission meeting today, Chehaw Executive Director, Tommy Gregors met with commissioners about the park’s legislation.
Now that Gregors has approval from the Dougherty and Lee County Commissions and the City of Albany, he wants to bring this up to the state level.
Gregors said after the meeting that plans moving forward for the park legislation are for Chehaw’s long-term future.
“Ensuring that they exist for the future is important. It has nothing to do at this point with funding, it’s more about the organizational board so that we meet the legal requirements to operate the facility. So that’s the focus, moving forward,” says Gregors.
The current Chehaw Act was set to expire on at the end of this year.
