Warming up by Memorial Day!

The below average temperatures last into the Memorial Day holiday weekend. In fact, Sunday morning widespread low-mid 50’s! That’s almost unheard of this time of year, so you’ll definitely want to take advantage of these conditions, because we probably won’t see these readings again until autumn. Meanwhile, we keep the persistent northeasterly breeze through Saturday with a mixture of sun and clouds from time to time, with cloud cover returning for the end of the Memorial Day holiday itself. Once again, chances of tropical or sub-tropical development with the coastal Carolina low pressure system remains unlikely since it’s attached to a front and has limited time over water. If you are planning a vacation up there expect impacts of heavy rainfall, minor coastal flooding, beach erosion, and dangerous boating conditions. However, if your vacation takes you to the Gulf Coast you’ll see better conditions, but still a rip current risk. We stay dry with the exception of the chance of an isolated rain shower for our eastern counties Saturday evening into Sunday. Warming up for Memorial Day as humidity starts to creep in. More humid later next week as the typical summertime pattern returns with heat indices in the low 90’s.

Have a safe, fun Memorial Day weekend! Please take some time to remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for us all in America – the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.
