Tracking Idalia !

Latest high-resolution models & track models have shifted ever so slightly westward with Idalia. If those trends continue, the impacts to SWGA could be greater. It’s important to stay updated to all forecast changes! The next 24 hours will be critical in determining where the likely major hurricane makes landfall in Florida. Be prepared before Tuesday night! That’s the onset of Tropical Storm conditions.

Idalia forecast to make landfall as a Major Hurricane early Wed. AM on FL’s Nature Coast. Life-threatening storm surge & dangerous hurricane-force winds. Idalia forecast to be a low-end hurricane as it moves into SE GA. Idalia impacts to SWGA late Tuesday night-all day Wednesday: 40-60 mph wind, higher gusts up to 70 mph or greater for eastern counties. Rainfall Forecast: Less West, More East. 1″-2″ NW of Flint River, 2″-4″ along/east of Hwy 319 corridor, 3″-6″+ east of I-75 into SE GA. Flash Flooding threat highest near & east of the track of the center of the storm. Also, chance of a brief, weak isolated tornado in outer feeder bands.
