Special election too close to call, heading to runoff

Carden H. Summers unofficially won special election by 111 votes

LEE COUNTY, Ga. – These are the unofficial results – Totals may not include all Absentee or Provisional Ballots.

11,956 votes came in for Tuesday’s special election.

Carden H. Summers secured 43.11%.

It was a close election with Jim Quinn securing 42.18%.

Mary Egler obtained 14.71% of the votes.

With none of the candidates getting 50 percent plus one vote, the race will now head to a runoff between Summers and Quinn.
