Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany invites graduating seniors to tune in to their graduation party

ALBANY, Ga. – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany’s facilities may be empty for following COVID-19 precautions, but the organization is making it a priority to serve their community.
Friday, BGCA will be streaming a “Grad Bash” live on their Facebook for their high school seniors.
Albany Mayor, Bo Dorough, will be in attendance to give the graduating class a special message.
There will also be a live DJ set and dancing is encouraged.
“As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, the graduating class of 2020 have been somewhat robbed of their full senior experience. There will be no prom, no dances, and possibly no graduation and so we want to celebrate them and their accomplishments because this is one of many milestones that they will celebrate in their lives,” says BGCA CEO, Marvin Laster.
The event is open to everyone and anyone, all you have to do is go on their Facebook today at 6 p.m.
“We want to just let the entire community come out and know that we support them, we’re behind them and we really revel in their accomplishments.”
Scholarship opportunities for the seniors will also be discussed as they prepare to take on college after a tumultuous year.
