Arson arrest in Calhoun County

Argument between roommates escalates into blaze; arrest

LEARY, GA – A 21 year old Calhoun County man has been arrested for allegedly trying to burn down his residence.

Wednesday, the office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King revealed last Thursday’s arrest of Dexter Green.

King says that Green and another occupant of the North Depot Street residence got into an argument prior to Green setting three separate fires both inside and outside the mobile home.

Green faces charges of first degree arson and aggravated assault.

Commissioner King’s Fire Investigation Unit assisted the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Calhoun County Fire Department with this matter.
