APD makes arrest in Joshua Hollis murder

ALBANY, GA-  Albany Police make an arrest in the murder of 24 year old Joshua Hollis, the May 8th slaying was caught on surveillance tape.

Police have arrested and charged 56 year old Robert Harvey with murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, possessing a firearm in the commission of a crime and obstruction of law enforcement.

Hollis’ final moments of life are caught on videotape that was distributed by Albany Police, with the hope someone would step forward with information on the murder. The videotape shows Hollis walking along the 700 block of West Highland Avenue when a gunman comes from behind, ambushing Hollis and fatally shooting him at point blank range.

Detectives have yet to reveal a possible motive for the fatal shooting, although some in the community have openly speculated if the killer should be prosecuted under Georgia’s new hate crime statues.
