APD investigating Cherry Avenue shooting

(ALBANY, Ga)- The Albany Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one dead on Cherry Avenue Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the 600 block, where 20 year-old Kawoski Newberry was found face down in his backyard.

This is the second shooting to happen on Cherry Avenue in a week, following a 15-year old being shot in the leg Monday night.

There is no word if the shootings are connected.

At the time of publication, the investigation is active.
