APD identify; investigate woman’s death

African-American female found deceased in Albany's Colquitt Alley Monday morning

ALBANY, GA – The Albany Police Department is investigating the death of a woman, who’s body was discovered Monday morning.

Police say their preliminary investigation suggests the woman, described as a 26-year-old black female, died from an apparent head injury.

However, the official cause of death is pending an autopsy report.

Police worked to notify the woman’s next of kin before releasing her identity Monday afternoon as Myeisha Ford.

Police say Ford was found in the 1100 block of Colquitt Alley.
