All roads in Lee County projected to be clear Tuesday afternoon

LEE COUNTY, Ga. – Throughout South Georgia’s wet weekend, Lee County EMA leaders closely watched the Muckalee and Kinchafoonee creeks.
Since this morning both creeks had been receding.
The Muckalee Creek was at 11.8 feet, putting it below Flood Stage and the Kinchafoonee Creek is at 13.84 feet down from around 19 ft, which is now Minor Flood Stage.
At this time, all roads are clear except for Creekside Drive, where a deputy is posted to turn cars around.
EMA Director for Lee County, Coleman Williams, says, “We still have water in the 700 block, the 500 block and 400 block of creekside drive. Levels still seem to be 3-4 feet in those areas. We ask residents not to be in there or driving on that road until we get the water back off.”
Williams says that the water is projected to recede by Tues. afternoon.
If anyone is displaced by the flooding and needs assistance, please call 229-759-6012 with all of your information.
