Albany’s “Government 101” class quickly fills
First course open to the public nearly full

ALBANY, GA- On April 25, 2022, the first application for public participation in Government 101 went live. As of 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, there are only five spots left in the course.
Government 101 launched on March 21, 2022, as a way to give people a chance to meet the City of Albany leaders and learn about how the City Government and departments operate. To give participants a more one-on-one experience with the Government 101 presenters, the class is limited to 20 participants per six-week course. During the individual sessions, participants will get to interact with City leaders who will share information about their department operations and respond to questions. Participants will also get to share a meal with the presenters, and any other City staff in attendance, and get to know them on a more personal level.
Our first course was only open to City staff. This gave employees a chance to interact with department heads and City leaders they may not see on a consistent basis.
The City is excited to open this next 6-week course to the public. However, with the limited space, there are now only five spots left. Those interested in getting one of those final spots can apply at https://forms.albanyga.gov/Forms/gov101. Participants are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
