Albany’s fleet footed fighter sought by police

Albany Police issue alert for a fight and flight suspect who proves elusive to arrest
Ricky Thomas

ALBANY, GA – Albany’s 38 year old Ricky Thomas has the attention of Albany Police.

The APD issued a BOLO, or “be on the lookout” alert for Thomas, after two previous attempts at capturing him by officers have failed.

APD’s Public Information Officer Phyllis Whitley-Banks says Thomas got into a fight Sunday night on East Broad Avenue, but took off and successfully ran away from responding police officers as they tried apprehending him.

Thomas reportedly once again returned to the scene of the fight, trying to retrieve a wallet he had inadvertently left.

Officers then tried taking Thomas into custody a second time, but officers say he fled the scene in a white Jaguar, in the company of a woman.

Albany Police would like to know the identity of the female companion, as well as Thomas’ current location.

The 38 year old suspect has 3 active warrants for obstructing and/or hindering law enforcement.

Should you know anything about the pair, you’re asked to call the Albany Police Department at 229-431-2100.
