Albany’s 16th annual recycling event coming up

Recycling

ALBANY, GA – The city of Albany announced that their 16th annual e-recycling event will be held on September 11, 2021, rain or shine.

This event is to promote the proper disposal of unwanted electronics, unneeded or unwanted medications, ink cartridges and unwanted or expired personal documents.

Through e-recycling, 688 tons of electronics have been placed into the recycling arena, saving landfill space at the Dougherty County landfill.

Occasionally there is a small fee. There is a $20 hazardous material removal fee for all TVs and $10 for monitors. Drug collection is both free and anonymous – no questions asked. Ink cartridges are free to bring – they will be refilled for reuse, and documents will be shredded for free.

To participate, bring your e-recyclables to the parking lot behind the Civic Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
