Albany Tech’s vaccination incentive
Longer holiday weekend plan allows unvaccinated employees to get their shot
ALBANY, GA – It’s a extra long holiday weekend set for Albany Technical College, but the extra day off comes with a Covid-19 request.
Faculty and staff are off both Friday and Monday, the latter due to the holiday. But Friday’s Administrative Day allows unvaccinated state employees to get their shot as suggested by Governor Brian Kemp.
To encourage unvaccinated Albany Tech employees to get their shot and to thank those already who have been vaccinated, ATC is providing employees with 8 hours of administrative leave Friday.
This leave is in lieu of and aligns with Governor Kemp’s Vaccination Day closing of state offices on September 3, 2021. Gov. Brian Kemp has announced these additional steps to help Georgia hospitals and encourage — but not require — state employees to get vaccinated in response to an alarming surge in coronavirus cases.
To make the vaccination process as convenient as possible several locations are available on Friday, September 3rd including:
