Albany Police Department wants you as a new recruit

ALBANY, Ga. – On Friday the Albany Police Department says they’re on the hunt for some new recruits to join the Albany Police Department Citizen’s Academy program.
This free, 12-week program starts Feb. 25 and goes through May 12th.
Participants get to meet with the different law enforcement units and activities will include active shooter simulator training and even going on a two hour ride-along.
All classes meet on Tuesday nights and you have to be at least 18 to sign up.
Corporal Dillard Glover says the program not only educates people on how a police department works, but helps “build some relationships and build some bridges with our community.”
He says through this program, people see that officers “are just like everybody else.”
You have until Feb. 21 to sign up.
