Albany fatal motorcycle crash victim identified

40 year old perishes in pre-dawn collision with truck on Slappey Boulevard

ALBANY, GA –  Albany Police are investigating an early morning traffic accident that left a 40 year old woman dead at the scene.

Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler identifies the victim as LaShala Deann Worthy, who was declared deceased at 7:20 this morning.

Witnesses say Worthy was driving her motorcycle at a relative high rate of speed as she approached the intersection of Slappey and Pine and was struck by a pick-up truck.

Coroner Fowler believes Worthy died on impact from the injuries received in the collision.

No word on any potential charges as police continue their investigation.
