Albany empowers Local Businesses at Meet Partnership Powerhouse event.

Albany, Georgia – The City of Albany hosts a gathering aimed at fostering collaboration and networking between businesses.
Residents of The Good Life City convened at the Albany Civic Center for the meet partnership powerhouse event. Numerous organizations participated, offering valuable resources and support to local business owners.
“The partnership powerhouse was established on February 23rd, 2024. It’s a diverse team of local, state, federal and private agencies and organizations that have come together with mutual goals. and our mutual goal is to create a collaborative platform and push resources to the businesses and our local community,” says The Administrative Superintendent for The City of Albany, Angela Calhoun.
The goal of the Meet Partnership Powerhouse is to unite resource agencies that offer business assistance to minority and disadvantaged business owners.
“The mutual goal of Partnership Powerhouse is to empower businesses to achieve contract awards. We want to provide that access to procurement by way of education, resources, connection, workshops, networking and establishing solutions to barriers,” says Calhoun.
The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce teamed up with several local, state, federal, and private organizations to create this platform.
“Let me say specifically that the city side of last night just passed a $300 billion plus budget. But it involves all our tax dollars from our local community, and that has always been one of my hopes that those tax dollars can go to enrich and empower our business community,” says Ward 6 City Commissioner, Demetrius Young.
“ We help you in assisting with certification. We help build your website for your company, we help your capability statement, business plan. With tech assistance, I think is the most underrated service that we provide,” says Business Development Manager, Mark DeGraw.
