Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit seizes 11 pounds of marijuana

(ALBANY, GA) – The Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit announcing they’ve the seized more than 11 pounds of marijuana.
Police say they traced a package containing the marijuana after receiving a tip from a Fed-Ex facility that the package was set to be delivered to a West Gordon Avenue address.
The drug unit also recovered a handgun as well as more than $550.
Major Ward tells us, “What we’ve got to do is continue building a repoire with the delivery services as well as the postal services, to ensure that if there’s a suspicious package that comes in that may be drug related, that they notify the proper authorities, which would be us.”
The drug unit has filed charges against 28 year old, Kelly Marie Watson for trafficking of marijuana, possession of drug-related items, and possession of a firearm while committing a felony.
