Albany and Dougherty County to host community cleanup this weekend

(ALBANY, GA) – The City of Albany and Dougherty County are continuing their efforts to keep the community clean with another clean up day this coming weekend.

The city is hosting a cleanup day for the Southgate community this coming Saturday and Sunday morning.

Residents in the county district are encouraged to bring large items that can be immediately thrown away.

Albany Ward 6 Commissioner, Demetrious Young says that events like these are needed right now to curb illegal dumping.

“We play an important role in keeping our city and cour county clean. And a lot of the things we can do in a small way by getting rid of household garbage and getting rid of the things just sitting around our homes,” says Young.

Cleanup will take place on Saturday, July 25th and Sunday, July 26th, from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. at Robert Cross Park.
